BT Group: Newstart Closure

30 September 2009

BT has announced the closure of Newstart schemes and the CWU has raised concerns over the lack of consultation on such a critical and sensitive statement.

One interpretation of the statement is that BT feels internal redeployment should be the future focus of resourcing, considerinh the current levels of internal job vacancies, the return to UK of off-shore work and the creation of new functions. The union's Executive BT Group Resourcing team will be pressing for urgent discussions and clarification of BTís future resourcing plans.
